Greetings from some of our California friends in Paris. Our dear friend, artist, photographer and bringer together of creative and talented folks, Danielle Rubi is curating this show in Paris of some California artists (not to mention great people and friends). Featuring Nat Russell, Kyle Field and Alia Shawkat. Wish we could be there. But at least the spirit of this awesome poster is with us. I think you will be able to buy one of these via Nat Russell’s site if you can’t make it the show in Paris.
Beatrice Wood was a potter, an artist and a photographer among so many other magical and creative titles. She was also a long time resident of our favorite get away, Ojai California, just 45 minutes from Santa Barbara. This coming Sunday the documentary filmed when she was 100 years old, “Mama of Dada”, is screening at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Seeing as Beatrice was Marcel Duchamps muse and one of the core members of the renegade dada movement I have no doubt this will cover all the high marks - interesting, inspiring and beautiful.
