Life just got a lot better in Santa Barbara, since we got in our shipment of Mast Brothers chocolate from Brooklyn NYC at the Supply Room. These beautiful hand crafted chocolate bars start with the best cacao in the world and end up transporting you far away for the lingering moment when a bite deliciously melts in your mouth. I dont know what makes this chocolate some of the best we have ever had. Is it the beautiful packaging, the high quality ingredients or the fact they they are made in by hand in a considered and beautiful space by two charming bearded men in Brooklyn? What ever it is, these brothers are doing something so right and good for the world. Thank you Mast Brothers. http://mastbrothers.blogspot.com/
The newest addition to our family! Come visit us! We haven’t renovated yet, but the place is already awesome as is! We will slowly make changes as we go, but we are open for business. Here is the current website: www.ojairanchoinn.com Don’t worry…we will change the site soon
We also started a brand for all of our properties : Shelter Social Club
After playing around Santa Barbara in a variety of projects, a group of friends came together in 2011 as Ghost Tiger. Frustrated with the limitations of working as a solo-singer songwriter, frontwoman Alixandra Macmillan-Fiedel started looking for new ways to expand her sound with members Kevin Evans, Christopher Norlinger, Emma Huston and Chris Stansell. Collaboration is key for the eclectic group. Coming from a variety of musical backgrounds, the band combines old and new flavors in a synthesis of four-part harmony, atmospheric sound and soulful vocals that culminate in a refreshing approach to indie-rock.
There is always something new to do where ever you are. Yesterday turned into an impromptu journey 5 miles north to our sleepy sister town Goleta. We had some Pho and drove into Isla Vista (the community that joins the UCSB). We took a sunset walk along the bluff to Sands beach, enjoyed some sweet examples of SoCal architecture and then went to the Isla Vista co-op for some healthy sweet treats. I recalled a blog post on Danielle Rubi’s amazing food blog Trail of Crumbs where she and Adrian had similar sort of day. Next time we will go for the breakfast burritos.
(photos compliments of Danielle Rubi be sure to check out her food blog Trail of Crumbs)
