Our good friend Steve Soria who is a Santa Barbara native (or Santa BarBarian as they are called) recently decided to take up a family talent that he was surrounded by growing up. Welcome- Make.Smith -a leather tradesman doing handmade wallets,pouches, and pretty much anything cool and leather goods related. We got a sneak peak inside his studio recently. Products can be seen in person at the Santa Barbara Luggage Shop and soon at our very own Supply Room!! Swing in and pay him a visit to check out his amazing handmade goods sometime soon.

That’s right-we have decided to open a shop here at the Presidio Motel-The Supply Room. It  will carry everything from clothing to books to pottery to that much needed sunblock you may have forgotten about when packing!Featuring the likes of Rachel Comey, All for the Mountain, Osborn Shoes, Anntian, and many more! Opening July 2010

On May 15th out on the sun-deck we threw a hoedown this town soon wont forget.  For those of you that didn’t strap on your boots or roll out the ol’hotrod for the Holdfast Rifle Compay’s performance, you missed a “down right” good time!  Complete with youngsters line-dancing in the parking lot, Pabst Blue ribbon over flow’in like a gas station pump and more denim than a Canadian Tuxedo Party!  Here’s a few photos for you (compliments of our house photographer Larry Mills).YeeeHaaaw!    Check out the Holdfast Rifle Company’s Music on their myspace page…Cheers!

With the help of our friend Larry Mills we came across this vintage post card of the Presidio Motel in either the 60’s or 70’s. We love the yellow and orange color scheme and the floral umbrella on sundeck.
